Clanfield residents are concerned about a suspected outbreak of the
banned 'Feline Spongiform Encepalopathy' disorder amongst the village's
burgeoning population of civet cats. The civets, prized for their ability
to produce stomach-churning caffeinated beverages, are a local tourist
attraction. Their daily displays of the barrista's art are thought to bring
between 20 and 30 thousand pounds to the local economy each week - enough to buy a much-needed boat for the local lifeboatmen.
The concern is not universal, however. Some villagers believe the zany
antics of the mad cats will add to the entertainment value. Only time will tell.
